In Rhode Island the primary hunting seasons typically run from the second Saturday in September to the last day of February and from the third Saturday in April to the last day in May, however this can vary from year to year and depends on what game is being hunted. During hunting season you should wear at least 200 square inches (a hat OR a vest) of blaze orange. During shotgun deer season, which is typically in December, you should wear at least 500 square inches of blaze orange (a hat AND a vest). For more information see the RI DEM website.

Located right across Frenchtown Elementary School on Frenchtown Road, the Frenchtown Park, Laurel Wood, and Fry Family Nature Preserve trails span three connected parcels, totaling approximately 125 acres and 2.5 miles of trails. From the parking lot behind the East Greenwich Parks and Recreation Department building, the trail begins with a walk alongside a small pond connected to the Frenchtown Brook water system. The trail then forks to the east, west and north. To the east, you will find old mill ruins, relics of the old Tillinghast cotton mill factory. The western route will take you to a dirt road that ends with the second trailhead on Tillinghast Road. Walking north will take you through Laurel Wood and into the Fry Family Nature Preserve trail loop.
Dogs: Must be kept on leash at all times; dog owners must pick up waste.
Bicycles: Bicycles are permitted but are only practical to use on some trails

NOTE: Creature is up but QR code is gone.
You can find an “easy” interactive trail here for kids and then get deeper into the woods and navigate over rocks and roots for a little extra work. Beautiful river walk as well.

[Moderator's Comment: Thank you. This is the same map that's available by clicking on the Trail Map link above. We get out trail maps from the organizations that manage the trails. That address is the correct address for the Frenchtown Park Trailhead]
